I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for Janet, my associate, this past Saturday.  Janet has been with me since she graduated from interior design school, 4 1/2 years ago, and I don’t know what I would do without her.  It was an honor for me to celebrate this special day and this new life with her.

Small pink boxes filled with elegant truffles adorned the tables.

Thirty guests were seated around skirted tables of pink satin for an afternoon tea on my patio. The weather was perfect and the view was gorgeous.  There wasn’t a cloud in the sky.  In between helping with the games, my 10-year-old granddaughter was able to capture every moment on film; including most of the photos here.  She is a talent in the wings.

This was a wonderful opportunity to bring out a few of my favorite silver coffee and tea pots to create center pieces at each table.  If you don’t have silver, you can bring the same elegance and fun to the table with garden flowers and your favorite vintage sugar bowls or teapots.  Peonies are my favorite spring flower and mixed with tulips and hyacinth, they were not only pretty, but gave off a delicate scent.  Mark’s Garden, created the stunning floral arrangements.

Everyone loved the smoked salmon and chilled sweet pea and mint soup.

We finished with tea, of course, and a selection of rich pastries.  The miniature red velvet cupcakes were divine.

With the help of the  International Event Company and the gorgeous weather, it was a beautiful spring shower celebrating a very special baby and her mother-to-be.
