I just love spending my summers in Aspen. The weather is perfect, the events are endless, and the memories are joyous. This season has had an exciting start full of hiking, biking, concerts and amazing friends.
The mountains create a perfect backdrop for hiking and biking in the White River National Forest. One afternoon, some friends and I took a long hike and picnic on Hunter Valley Trail. The trail has so many different attractions; mountain views, flowing water, and beautiful meadows are a few of the many. I really enjoyed seeing the old abandoned mining shacks and hunters cabins along the way.
One of my first evenings in Aspen this summer was spent at the music venue Belly Up. They host a whole line up of great singers and entertainment all year long and have an additional location in San Diego. Our night was full of fun and dancing with the Beatles cover band, Beatle Mania Live. They were fabulous! It was almost like being at an original Beatles concert. The band had four costume changes authentic to every Beatles era; they even use original model instruments. If you ever get the chance to see this cover band, do it!
The JAS candlelight evening was a blast. What caught my eye most was the beautiful acrobat gracefully suspended from the chandelier pouring Dom Perignon in our glasses all evening, quite impressive! It was such a fun event and the theatrical entertainment was exquisite.
Some of the many other events during the season in Aspen include Sunday Concerts in the Park, Theatre in the Park, and summer ballets. There are hundreds of happenings daily, it’s impossible to attend them all. The entertainment and beautiful mountains create a perfect retreat spot. Each summer spent in Aspen brings new friendships, bonds, and memories to hold onto. I truly enjoy every moment I am there, and this year is no exception!
