Westweek 2013 in Los Angeles came and went in a flash, and I only wish it lasted a whole week. In actuality, all the events were packed into two days of previewing all the new products and trends for this year. With all the excitement of seeing old friends and colleagues, it was almost tough to stay focused on interior design. I enjoyed meeting and talking with designers to see what their inspiration was for new product and heard from industry experts on what direction design will be taking. The show was jam packed with new product lines, bold contemporary fabrics and lots of Black and White. Very Chic.

One of my new favorite showrooms was the opening of Coraggio’s new line of furniture and the personal tour by the owner and designer. I felt their passion and care for each piece. Also, their lighting design for showing fabrics was awesome. Of course, I found another favorite mohair fabric in Sable Grey that I am going to use to cover my new sofa.

Thomas Lavin
always entertains with not only his graciousness but talks on design and his beautiful showroom. I especially love his lighting and Ramona, the super sales woman is the best in the business. She works late and always returns phone calls.

Of course, this is only a “snippet” of what I saw during the show as there were so many other great finds. I had such a great time and though my feet were sore by the end of it, I left feeling inspired and invigorated to offer my clients some new ideas.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I ran into an old friend and famous architect, Steven Ehrlich. We sat next to each other at the Magni event and then grabbed lunch at Astra. We started out in our young businesses together and ended up in AD Top 100. He in his Architectural element and me in my Interior Design field. How wonderful is that?
