I spent three glorious days in New York staying at the very Hip Hotel, The London. The West side of New York has a very different vibe. I just loved the restaurants and walking on the streets.
Besides seeing wonderful girlfriends, I attended the New York Design Center’s “What’s New What’s Next”. Thank goodness I wore flats because the event included over 65 participating showrooms. My head was spinning with not only new products, but crazy exciting ideas.
I especially loved the LUXE Magazine event which featured the Editor in Chief Pamela Jaccarino, who put together a panel about what defines artisan quality for high-end design.
In a fast paced world with the internet pulling us in every direction, how do we define quality and timeless craftsmanship?
For example, weaving a rug has great meaning to generations of families who show pride in their craft and culture. I really felt for that and how sometimes, I think we have lost the idea of something so simple and timeless.
However, if you can really afford to invest in a beautiful rug or hand woven textiles then think of a good paint color and also, don’t forget dimmers!
